Cycling Miles For Marrow
Willie Fourie and Andrew Wisdom have turned their participation in the Sani2C challenge into a ‘Miles 4 Marrow' fundraiser for The Sunflower Fund.They will also create awareness for The Fund by wearing 'The Sunflower Fund cycling kit'.
The 250 km challenge takes place from 28 February to 1 March starting in Underberg and finishing in Scottburgh. The event requires partners to stick together throughout the gruelling 82km, 96,7km and 71km off-road race. "The reason for a team event is primarily for safety as you are responsible for your partner throughout," explains Fourie.
"The atmosphere of a team race is completely different from that of an individual race where everyone is there just for themselves," continues Fourie. "Although competitive and tough, this race builds camaraderie, you have to push yourself when your partner is strong and hang back when he is battling".
