Choir to captivate audience

Having gained international recognition, the Connection Zulu Choir from Kwa Nuyswa will be performing at a special gala concert at Sarepta Church in Gillets next weekend.

Thw Choir, which is comprised of 35 members, have gained recognition in Australia, and have performed over 20 sell-out concerts to over 10,000 people.

Choir perform gala evening

The internationally acclaimed Connection Zulu Choir, a gospel choir from Kwa Nuyswa, will be performing a gala concert at Sarepta Church in Gillets on October 17.

The Choir is made up of 35 people aged from 16 to 35 people aged from 16 to 35 includes one young Australian woman. They are well known in Australia, having toured Victoria, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory in 2007 and performed over 20 sell out concerts to over 10,000 people.

Young Surfers All Set For International Finals

Beyrick de Vries and Sarah Baum clinched the coveted invitations to the International Finals of the Rip Curl Gromsearch in Australia next Easter event when they won their respective boys and girls’ titles in the premier 16-and-under division of the South African Grand Finals of the 2008 Rip Curl Gromsearch series presented by Island Tribe at Southbroom on Sunday.

It was the second consecutive SA Grand Final victory for Baum, 14, from Athlone Park south of Durban, who placed third amongst her peers from around the globe at Bells Beach in Australia during the Easter event this year.

De Vries will be attending his first Gromsearch International Finals, an event won by South Africa’s Dale Staples earlier this year, although the 15 year-old rising surf star from Umhlanga has already posted several excellent contest results in Australia on previous visits.
